Beta Support for WMS
The STREAM:RASTER team is pleased to announce BETA availability of Web Map Service (WMS) capabilities for all new and existing subscriptions.
WMS is a longstanding and widely implemented Open Geospatial Consortium® (OGC) standard (https://www.ogc.org/standards/wms/). By supporting WMS, we can enable a broad range of GIS and CAD software to use STREAM:RASTER.
For example, Bentley’s Microstation CAD software is used widely for structural engineering work in government transportation agencies but it cannot use the native WMTS or XYZ tile formats delivered by STREAM:RASTER. Microstation does support the older WMS standard. So now any Microstation use can benefit from the fast, reliable, and easy STREAM:RASTER service.
This feature is currently in BETA. We encourage you to try it out and provide feedback through https://support.woolpert.io or help@woolpert.io.

A Note on Performance
During the BETA period we are not offering SLA’s for WMS services. Our goal is to provide 1080p resolution maps in under 5 seconds. That should feel pretty snappy in a typical desktop GIS on a decent sized monitor.
Of course, you can use the WMS feature on any sized display. But because WMS builds one single large map image for each response, instead of shipping lots of prebuilt tiles like WMTS, you may have slower response times if your screen is bigger than 1080p.
